Are You At Risk Of
Car Theft Or Home Break-In?
Remote Jamming is when a criminal within close proximity to you and your remote is able to block the signal of your remote by pressing a similar remote at the same time.
Remote jamming also known as car jamming can prevent the locking and alarm system from being activated on vehicles, businesses and homes, leaving these vulnerable to theft.
Safety Tips
Ensure that your vehicle is actually locked before walking away. This may take a little extra time, but the act of tugging on the door handle to ensure the contents of your vehicle are secure could save you a lot of money and the hassle of reporting a theft. Double-check that your boot is locked. If you are close enough, you should also be able to hear your locking mechanism activate.
Do NOT leave valuable items in your vehicle, particularly where they are visible to passers-by. Something as innocent as a jacket or a bag of shopping can be enticing to criminals. Where possible, park in safe, crowded areas where there are lots of other vehicles and ideally, security personnel.
Be aware of your surroundings. Look out for suspicious individuals near your vehicle. Someone standing nearby with their hands in their pockets, with no apparent reason to be there, may well be concealing a remote jammer in their pocket. Most importantly, NEVER approach or confront any individual that you may suspect of remote jamming. By doing this, you may be putting yourself in danger.
